Roy Stokes (some very lucky bloke indeed) was dragged along to the Gala Bingo Championship by his wife Linda and left £30,000 richer and if that wasn’t good enough – a holiday to The States!
Roy who once worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland has swapped his suit and tie for the joys of retirement and all the joys that bring! HE only plays bingo two or three times a year – but boy – does he make it count!
Roy said: “It was just 15 minutes …unbelievable! I just didn’t have a chance to react to it. Before I knew where I was or what was going on, there I was, standing on stage with the cheque in my hands!”
Roy first bagged £10,000 cash by scooping up the first play off, before going on to win £20,000 in the grand final PLUS the holiday to Vegas! Ach! Sometimes life just doesn’t seem fair right girls!?
Roy and Linda plan to spend their loot on a brand new kitchen and an amazing Christmas for all the family...
Gala Bingo invited Linda (and Roy…the unsuspecting contender) plus another 154 players to play in the finals in Gibraltar.
