Sista 1# Sandra Bullock bagged the Oscar for best-actress in The BlindSide
Sista 2# Mo'Nique went home with a gold statue for her role as best –supporting actress in Precious
Sista 3# And of course, most importantly; The first woman in Oscar History to win Best Director award went to Kathryn Bigelow for Hurt Locker
Dave Karger of Entertainment Weekly said it was “a fascinating case" ; that even though the film was ‘small’ both in terms of grossing income and lack of big name stars, there was a consent and support among the people from within the film industry who saw the film, that it should win.
Even Bigelow’s ‘Director’ competitors, ex-hubby James Cameron (Avatar) and Quentin Tarantino (Inglorious Bastards), confessed earlier that they were rooting for Hurt Locker.
Best-picture winner The Hurt Locker broke all the records last night! Not only is it a first for the female director, but also – it is the lowest-grossing film of all time to win best picture!
It's a stark reminder, that even now in 2010, women are still making records and changing the course of history...
