Research company Mintel’s recent study indicates around 3.5 million people are taking pleasure in playing the bingo game regularly, and the age of those bingo players has moved towards a younger segment, with 20 percent of players now coming from the 18 to 24 age group.
The 18 to 45 age group consist of 62 % of all bingo players, with the online version of the game expanding quick as live bingo incomes have dropped by 26 %. There has been a 60 % jump in the number of people using bingo online, compared to a 10 % decline in the number of people visiting live bingo clubs from 2006 until the end of 2008.
The study sees the outlook for online bingo as fair, and with key companies turning out to be ever more ready for action in the online space a boost in advertising activity is likely to be anticipated.
